The space

The search stops here — Gwylanfa is the perfect base for your next family get-together. Accommodating up to ten people, this beachfront property is in a fantastic location. Not only is Rest Bay Beach a stone's throw away, but Royal Porthcawl Golf Club is also next door.

 

As you walk through the door, a sense of home immediately washes over you. In the living room, two oversized couches and a cosy armchair wait to welcome the entire family. A large window provides spectacular views of the beach and front garden.

 

The kitchen is a great size for whipping up crowd-pleasing meals. Plenty of counter space makes meal prep a breeze, and a gas cooker and double oven help cut down on cooking time.

 

Pass steaming plates of food through the serving hatch to the dining room. Then break bread with your nearest and dearest around the large wooden dining table. You'll savour both the delicious meal and the feeling of having everyone under one roof.

 

Of course, feeding a crowd means you’ll need adequate storage. There’s a half fridge in the kitchen, and the utility room next door has a full fridge, chest freezer, washer, and dryer.

 

When it comes to sleeping arrangements, this house doesn’t disappoint. Five spacious bedrooms all have beach views and their own ensuite bathrooms. On the main level are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with twin beds. The family bathroom near the main living area has a toilet, washbasin and stand-up shower.

 

Upstairs, the first sprawling bedroom has a double bed on one side, and a single bed on the other. A couch adds an extra layer of comfort to the space. Two further bedrooms each hold a set of twin beds. One of these sets can be zipped into a king, as long as you state your preference when booking.

 

The upper level has the added benefit of a second living area. Two plush couches, matching armchairs, and a table and chairs complete the room. But the star of this show is the covered balcony where you can watch gorgeous sunsets over Rest Bay Beach.

 

With a cafe and water sports centre steps away, this home has it all. But while the proximity to the beach might be what attracts you to this lovely property, it's not the best part. What you'll cherish forever are the memories you'll make inside of it with your loved ones.

Location

If it’s the golf courses that are attracting you to the area, you won’t be disappointed with the Royal Porthcawl on your doorstep and also Pyle & Kenfig and The Grove located in Porthcawl and don’t forget Southerndown Golf course which is a short drive away.

Rest Bay Café is almost next door with a ground level kiosk for take away options or you can sit upstairs where they cater for all needs - you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner - if you didn’t fancy cooking.

This is the perfect base for adventure seekers eager to sample South Wales’ outdoor activity – surfing, paddle boarding, kite surfing, rock pooling, golf, cycling, fishing, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, paintballing, high ropes climbing, walking or simply relaxing on the balcony or in the garden reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine.

There is also the Elvis Festival (usually the last weekend of September) where visitors from all over the world come to Porthcawl for the Elvis convention. Be prepared for lots of people wandering around in full Elvis get-up and shops playing Love Me Tender, Hound Dog and more of his rock ’n’ roll greats – it’s a great fun weekend.
